The short answer

What does Cicada do for home services?

For a home services business, Cicada is an AI agent that runs the office while you're on a job. It reads new inquiries from your inbox and web form, drafts a reply with a time that's actually free, books the job into Google Calendar, and turns your price list into a quote as a PDF with your logo. When a job goes well and you say so, it asks the customer for a review. Add it to the crew's WhatsApp group and it answers when someone names it: tomorrow's jobs, an address, a note from the customer. Every message to a customer waits for your yes.

What it does

What your home services business does.

01

Answers inquiries

Reads new inquiries from your inbox and web form, works out what the job is, and drafts a reply with a time that's actually free. It goes out after your yes.

02

Books jobs into the calendar

Puts each job in Google Calendar with the address, the customer's number and the notes, and moves it when plans change.

03

Sends quotes as PDFs

Builds the quote from your price list and the customer's photos, with your logo and line items, and sends it from your inbox once you say so.

04

Asks for reviews after a yes

When a job is done and you give the word, it sends the customer a short thank-you with your review link. Never before you say.

05

Works in the crew's WhatsApp

Add it to the group. It stays quiet until someone names it, then answers: tomorrow's jobs, an address, what the customer said about access.

06

Chases unpaid invoices

Reads QuickBooks or Xero for invoices past due and drafts a friendly reminder for each customer, for your yes.

Setup

Set up in three steps.

  1. Say what the job is

Describe the role in a sentence when you sign up, or tell the agent in the chat. It writes its own brief, which you can read and change any time.

  2. Connect the apps it needs

One click for most apps. Each one can be Full, Ask first or Read-only, for every agent in the workspace.

  3. Link your phone, or don't

Scan a code and it's in your iMessage or WhatsApp. Or keep it in the app, Slack and email. Hand it the first job in the same message.

Control

Nothing goes out without your yes.

Nothing goes out without your yes

Anything that can't be undone, and any message to another person, waits for your OK. Approve with a 👍 in the chat, or set a role to full autonomy once you trust it.

Read-only is a real lock

Make any app read-only and the agent can look but never change a thing. It applies to every agent in the workspace, from their next run.

Every step on the record

Each run shows what it read, what it did and what it sent, step by step, in the Activity tab. Corrections you make stick.

What it won't do.

Won't pretend

If it couldn't confirm something, it leaves it out and says so. A number without a source doesn't go in a message.

Won't go around you

It never messages anyone on your behalf unless you asked, never spends money, and never makes a judgement call about money on its own.

Won't read what isn't shared

Teammates' agents work only through the apps the workspace shares. Your inbox and your personal apps stay under your own login.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Where do I talk to it?

WhatsApp, iMessage, Slack, email or the web app. Link your phone with a code and text it from the van. In the crew's group chat it stays quiet until someone names it.

Will it message my customers on its own?

No. Every reply, quote and review request waits for your OK in the chat, and a 👍 sends it. It never spends money or agrees a price on its own.

Can it call customers?

Most of the work happens by message and email. It can also place a call for you (paid plans, US, Canada and UK), billed per minute.

Does it work with my job software?

If it has an app, connect it in a click. If it's a website with no app, Cicada uses its own browser with your login kept in a vault, and you can watch it work and take over.

Can it make quotes and invoices?

Quotes as PDFs with your logo, built from your price list. Invoices are drafted in QuickBooks or Xero and wait for your yes before anything is sent.

Can the crew use it?

Yes, in the group chat. And everyone in your workspace can have their own agent: shared apps like the calendar are connected once, and each person's inbox stays under their own login.

Will it remember how we price jobs?

It keeps a memory of your prices, your areas, your crew and your rules that you can read and edit in the app. Corrections you give it stick.

What does it cost?

Every workspace starts with 300 free credits. You add a card at sign-up and nothing is charged until you run low; then it's $25 for 200 credits, with no subscription. A quick reply is about 5 credits and a typical run under 20; plans start at $99 a month.
