The short answer

What is an AI compliance assistant?

An AI compliance assistant is an agent that does the tracking and the paperwork behind a compliance program: it keeps checklists of the policies and evidence you need, reminds you before audits, renewals and filing dates, fills in vendor questionnaires from the documents you already have, and keeps a register of it all. Cicada's works from WhatsApp, iMessage, Slack or email, reads your policies in Google Drive or Notion, and answers only from what your documents say. It never claims a certification on your behalf and it is not legal advice: interpretation goes to your counsel or auditor.

What it does

What your AI compliance assistant does.

01

Keeps the checklists

Each policy and each piece of evidence you need, who owns it, where it lives and when it was last updated, in Google Sheets or Airtable, linked to the files in Drive.

02

Tracks every date

Audits, policy reviews, insurance and license renewals, and the filing dates you give it. On the calendar and in the register, with a reminder before each one, on the minute.

03

Drafts vendor questionnaires

Reads the questionnaire, answers from your own policies and past answers, names the document each answer came from, and highlights what your documents don't cover.

04

Gathers the evidence

Asks each owner for what's missing after your yes, files what comes back in the right Drive folder and marks it done in the checklist.

05

Watches the pages you name

Checks a regulator's or a standard's page on a schedule and tells you when something you track has changed, with the link.

06

Keeps the register

Policies, vendors, contracts, the incidents you log and the decisions you made, in one sheet with dates and owners, ready when someone asks.

Who it's for

Who hires an AI compliance assistant.

Operations leads

Compliance without a compliance hire

Checklists, dates and evidence kept in order while you run the rest of the business.

Founders

The security questionnaire answered

A first pass on the big customer's questionnaire from your own policies, with the gaps marked.

Compliance managers

The tracking done for you

Owners nudged, evidence filed, dates watched, so your time goes on the judgement calls.

Finance teams

Renewals and filings on time

Insurance, licenses and filing dates in one register, with a reminder before each.

Sales teams

Security reviews that don't stall deals

Questionnaires drafted from answers you've already approved, so the deal isn't waiting on a spreadsheet.

Property managers

Inspections and certificates tracked

Safety inspections, insurance certificates and license renewals for every property, with reminders.

Setup

Set up in three steps.

  1. Say what the job is

Describe the role in a sentence when you sign up, or tell the agent in the chat. It writes its own brief, which you can read and change any time.

  2. Connect the apps it needs

One click for most apps. Each one can be Full, Ask first or Read-only, for every agent in the workspace.

  3. Link your phone, or don't

Scan a code and it's in your iMessage or WhatsApp. Or keep it in the app, Slack and email. Hand it the first job in the same message.

Control

Nothing goes out without your yes.

Nothing goes out without your yes

Anything that can't be undone, and any message to another person, waits for your OK. Approve with a 👍 in the chat, or set a role to full autonomy once you trust it.

Read-only is a real lock

Make any app read-only and the agent can look but never change a thing. It applies to every agent in the workspace, from their next run.

Every step on the record

Each run shows what it read, what it did and what it sent, step by step, in the Activity tab. Corrections you make stick.

What it won't do.

Won't pretend

If it couldn't confirm something, it leaves it out and says so. A number without a source doesn't go in a message.

Won't go around you

It never messages anyone on your behalf unless you asked, never spends money, and never makes a judgement call about money on its own.

Won't claim what you haven't got

It never says you're certified or compliant, and it never fills a questionnaire gap with a guess. Those answers come from you.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Does it make us compliant or certified?

No. It keeps the checklists, the dates and the paperwork in order. It never claims a certification on your behalf; certifications come from your auditor.

Is it legal advice?

No. It tracks, organizes and drafts from your own documents. How a rule applies to you is a question for your counsel or auditor.

Where do I talk to it?

WhatsApp, iMessage, Slack, email or the web app. Send a questionnaire in the thread and the first pass comes back in the same thread. In a group chat it stays quiet until someone names it.

How does it answer questionnaires?

From your own policies and the answers you've approved before. Each answer names the document it came from, and anything your documents don't cover is left for you, not filled in.

Will it send anything to customers or auditors?

Only when you ask, from your own connected inbox, and only after your OK in the chat. Requests to colleagues for evidence wait for your yes too.

Who can see our policies?

The files you send it and the folders you connect. Any app can be set to read-only, and each person's own inbox stays under their own login.

Can my team use it?

Yes. Everyone in your workspace gets their own agent. The policy folder and the register are connected once for the team; personal apps stay under each person's own login.

What does it cost?

Every workspace starts with 300 free credits. You add a card at sign-up and nothing is charged until you run low; then it's $25 for 200 credits, with no subscription. A quick reply is about 5 credits and a typical run under 20; plans start at $99 a month.
