Northwind is a regional distributor with three warehouses. Last quarter they announced a new site in Manchester and a new COO, Dan Ortiz, who joined from a logistics provider. Your notes from last year's intro say inventory accuracy was their pain. The brief has the sources.

The short answer

What does Cicada do for consultants?

For a consulting firm, Cicada is an AI agent that does the preparation and follow-through around client work. It researches a company and its market on the web and in your past notes, and writes a brief with the sources linked. It drafts proposals in Google Docs and decks in Google Slides from your own materials, with your logo and colors. It schedules meetings across time zones, joins the call as a notetaker, and texts you the decisions and actions. Then it drafts the follow-up for your yes and tracks what each side promised.

What it does

What your consulting firm does.

01

Writes the research brief

A company, its people, its market and its news, read from the web and your past notes, on a page or two with the sources linked.

02

Drafts proposals and decks

A proposal in Google Docs and a deck in Google Slides from your own materials, with your logo and colors, ready for you to edit.

03

Schedules across time zones

Finds the slot that works for five people on three continents, sends the invites in everyone's own time, and moves them when plans change.

04

Takes the meeting notes

Joins Zoom, Google Meet, Teams and Webex calls as your notetaker and texts you the decisions, actions and numbers when the call ends.

05

Follows up

Drafts the follow-up from the notes, sends it after your yes, and tracks what each side promised until it lands.

06

Builds the analysis

Turns the client's data into a sheet: cleaned, summarized, with a chart for each question, shared as a link.

Setup

Set up in three steps.

  1. Say what the job is

Describe the role in a sentence when you sign up, or tell the agent in the chat. It writes its own brief, which you can read and change any time.

  2. Connect the apps it needs

One click for most apps. Each one can be Full, Ask first or Read-only, for every agent in the workspace.

  3. Link your phone, or don't

Scan a code and it's in your iMessage or WhatsApp. Or keep it in the app, Slack and email. Hand it the first job in the same message.

Control

Nothing goes out without your yes.

Nothing goes out without your yes

Anything that can't be undone, and any message to another person, waits for your OK. Approve with a 👍 in the chat, or set a role to full autonomy once you trust it.

Read-only is a real lock

Make any app read-only and the agent can look but never change a thing. It applies to every agent in the workspace, from their next run.

Every step on the record

Each run shows what it read, what it did and what it sent, step by step, in the Activity tab. Corrections you make stick.

What it won't do.

Won't pretend

If it couldn't confirm something, it leaves it out and says so. A number without a source doesn't go in a message.

Won't go around you

It never messages anyone on your behalf unless you asked, never spends money, and never makes a judgement call about money on its own.

Won't read what isn't shared

Teammates' agents work only through the apps the workspace shares. Your inbox and your personal apps stay under your own login.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Where do I talk to it?

WhatsApp, iMessage, Slack, email or the web app. Link your phone with a code and text it from the airport; it answers in the same thread.

Will it email clients as me?

Only when you ask, and only from your own connected inbox. Every message to another person waits for your OK in the chat, and you can set any app to Ask first or Read-only.

Can it make decks in our template?

Yes. It drafts decks, documents, sheets and one-pagers with your logo and colors and shares them as links. Ask for changes and it updates the same link.

How does it research a company?

It reads the web and your own notes and past documents, and links every source. If it couldn't confirm something, it leaves it out and says so.

Does it join client calls?

Yes. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex. It says it's taking notes and texts you the decisions and actions. It can also write notes from a recording.

Can my team use it too?

Yes. Everyone in your workspace gets their own agent. Shared apps are connected once for the firm; personal apps like your inbox stay under your own login.

Will it remember each client?

It keeps a memory of your clients, your people and your rules that you can read and edit in the app. Corrections you give it stick.

What does it cost?

Every workspace starts with 300 free credits. You add a card at sign-up and nothing is charged until you run low; then it's $25 for 200 credits, with no subscription. A quick reply is about 5 credits and a typical run under 20; plans start at $99 a month.
