The short answer

What does Cicada do for agencies?

For an agency, Cicada is an AI agent that keeps every client account moving. It reads the client threads in email and Slack, drafts the replies, and writes the weekly status report from what's in Asana, Linear, Jira or Notion. It finds who hasn't logged their hours, adds them up in a sheet and drafts the invoice in QuickBooks or Xero for your yes. It joins client calls as a notetaker and texts you the actions. Each person at the agency gets their own agent, and nothing goes to a client without a yes.

What it does

What your agency does.

01

Answers client threads

Reads every client email and Slack thread, works out what's being asked, checks the project tools for the answer and drafts the reply for your yes.

02

Writes the status report

Each week, per client: what shipped, what's in progress, what's waiting on them and the hours used, built from Asana, Linear, Jira or Notion, with your logo.

03

Chases timesheets

Reads the hours sheet on Friday, finds who hasn't logged, and nudges them in Slack when you say so.

04

Drafts invoices

Adds up the hours or the retainer per client and drafts the invoice in QuickBooks or Xero. It goes out after your yes.

05

Sits in each client's channel

One Slack channel per client. It stays quiet until someone names it, then answers from that client's projects and threads.

06

Takes the call notes

Joins client calls on Zoom, Google Meet, Teams or Webex as your notetaker and texts you the decisions, the actions and who owns each.

Who uses it at an agency.

Agency owners

Every account in one message

What's late, what's waiting on clients and how the hours stand, across all of them.

Account managers

Replies and reports on time

Client questions answered from the project tools, the Friday report written for you.

Project managers

Status without the chasing

Asana, Linear or Jira read and summarized per client, with the blockers named.

Finance and ops

Invoices that match the hours

Timesheets chased, hours added up, invoices drafted in QuickBooks or Xero.

Creative leads

Feedback in one place

Client notes from email, Slack and calls gathered into the brief before the team starts.

Small studios

An account manager you don't have yet

Client comms, reports and invoicing handled while you do the work.

Setup

Set up in three steps.

  1. Say what the job is

Describe the role in a sentence when you sign up, or tell the agent in the chat. It writes its own brief, which you can read and change any time.

  2. Connect the apps it needs

One click for most apps. Each one can be Full, Ask first or Read-only, for every agent in the workspace.

  3. Link your phone, or don't

Scan a code and it's in your iMessage or WhatsApp. Or keep it in the app, Slack and email. Hand it the first job in the same message.

Control

Nothing goes out without your yes.

Nothing goes out without your yes

Anything that can't be undone, and any message to another person, waits for your OK. Approve with a 👍 in the chat, or set a role to full autonomy once you trust it.

Read-only is a real lock

Make any app read-only and the agent can look but never change a thing. It applies to every agent in the workspace, from their next run.

Every step on the record

Each run shows what it read, what it did and what it sent, step by step, in the Activity tab. Corrections you make stick.

What it won't do.

Won't pretend

If it couldn't confirm something, it leaves it out and says so. A number without a source doesn't go in a message.

Won't go around you

It never messages anyone on your behalf unless you asked, never spends money, and never makes a judgement call about money on its own.

Won't read what isn't shared

Teammates' agents work only through the apps the workspace shares. Your inbox and your personal apps stay under your own login.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Can it sit in our client Slack channels?

Yes. Add it to each client's channel. It stays quiet until someone names it, then answers from that client's projects and threads. It acts on your team's instructions.

Will it message clients on its own?

No. Replies, reports and invoices are drafted and wait for your OK, and a 👍 in the chat sends them. You can give it full autonomy later, once you trust it.

Which project tools does it read?

Asana, Linear, Jira, Notion, Airtable and Google Sheets connect in a click, and so do many others. Each one can be Full, Ask first or Read-only.

Where do I talk to it?

Slack, iMessage, WhatsApp, email or the web app. It answers in the thread it was asked in.

Does it join client calls?

Yes. It joins Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex as your notetaker, says it's taking notes, and texts you the decisions and actions when the call ends.

Can everyone at the agency have one?

Yes. Everyone in your workspace gets their own agent. Shared apps like Slack and Asana are connected once; personal apps like your inbox stay under your own login.

Will it know each client's preferences?

It keeps a memory of your clients, your people and your rules that you can read and edit in the app. Corrections you give it stick.

What does it cost?

Every workspace starts with 300 free credits. You add a card at sign-up and nothing is charged until you run low; then it's $25 for 200 credits, with no subscription. A quick reply is about 5 credits and a typical run under 20; plans start at $99 a month.
