The short answer

What is an AI ecommerce manager?

An AI ecommerce manager is an agent that handles the daily work of running an online store: orders that need attention, returns, product listings, promotions and the customer tickets that come with them. Cicada's works across Shopify, TikTok Shop and Gorgias, texts you the day's sales at the time you choose, drafts ticket replies, and checks your catalog for products whose price, title or stock differ between channels. It sets up a discount or edits a listing after your yes, and every change it makes is in the Activity tab.

What it does

What your AI ecommerce manager does.

01

Texts you the day's sales

A message at the time you set: revenue and orders by channel, top sellers, returns opened and anything odd, from Shopify and TikTok Shop.

02

Works the order exceptions

Finds the orders stuck unfulfilled, the address problems and the payments on hold, and tells you or your team what each one needs.

03

Handles returns

Reads return requests and the tickets about them, groups them by reason, and spots when one product or batch keeps coming back.

04

Drafts Gorgias replies

Writes replies to tickets in your brand's voice with the order details filled in, and sends them after your yes.

05

Keeps listings and promotions right

Edits titles, descriptions, prices and discounts on Shopify and TikTok Shop when you ask. Every change waits for your yes if the app is set to Ask first.

06

Finds inconsistent product data

Compares price, title, SKU and stock across channels and lists the products that don't match, in a sheet you can work through.

Who it's for

Who hires an AI ecommerce manager.

Shopify brands

A store manager on your phone

The day's sales, the stuck orders and the tickets, in one text each evening.

TikTok Shop sellers

Two channels, one view

Orders and listings across Shopify and TikTok Shop read together, with the differences flagged.

Support leads

Ticket drafts with the order attached

Gorgias replies drafted with the order, the tracking and the policy already in them.

Operations managers

Returns with a pattern

Returns grouped by reason and batch, so a supplier problem shows up in days, not months.

Marketing leads

Promotions set up the same everywhere

A discount set up on Shopify and TikTok Shop with matching terms, after your yes.

Founders

The store runs while you build the brand

Orders, returns and listings watched daily, with only the decisions sent to you.

Setup

Set up in three steps.

  1. Say what the job is

Describe the role in a sentence when you sign up, or tell the agent in the chat. It writes its own brief, which you can read and change any time.

  2. Connect the apps it needs

One click for most apps. Each one can be Full, Ask first or Read-only, for every agent in the workspace.

  3. Link your phone, or don't

Scan a code and it's in your iMessage or WhatsApp. Or keep it in the app, Slack and email. Hand it the first job in the same message.

Control

Nothing goes out without your yes.

Nothing goes out without your yes

Anything that can't be undone, and any message to another person, waits for your OK. Approve with a 👍 in the chat, or set a role to full autonomy once you trust it.

Read-only is a real lock

Make any app read-only and the agent can look but never change a thing. It applies to every agent in the workspace, from their next run.

Every step on the record

Each run shows what it read, what it did and what it sent, step by step, in the Activity tab. Corrections you make stick.

What it won't do.

Won't pretend

If it couldn't confirm something, it leaves it out and says so. A number without a source doesn't go in a message.

Won't go around you

It never messages anyone on your behalf unless you asked, never spends money, and never makes a judgement call about money on its own.

Won't read what isn't shared

Teammates' agents work only through the apps the workspace shares. Your inbox and your personal apps stay under your own login.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Where do I talk to it?

iMessage, WhatsApp, Slack, email or the web app. Link your phone with a code at sign-up and it answers in the same thread you text it in. In a group chat it stays quiet until someone names it.

Which stores does it work with?

Shopify and TikTok Shop, with Gorgias for tickets and ShipStation for shipping. Anything else in the 1,000+ apps it connects to, or a site with no app through its own browser.

Will it change prices or listings on its own?

Only when you ask. Set Shopify and TikTok Shop to Ask first and every change waits for your yes; set them to Read-only and it can look but never change a thing.

Can it answer customers?

It drafts Gorgias replies with the order details in them and sends them after your 👍 in the chat. It never offers a refund or a discount you didn't approve.

How do I know the sales numbers are right?

It reads them from the store apps at the time of the report and says which app each figure came from. If a channel couldn't be read, the message says so.

Can it run more than one job at once?

Yes. A coordinator can hand orders, returns and the catalog check to specialists that work at the same time, and you get one message back.

Can my team use it too?

Yes. Everyone in your workspace gets their own agents. The stores and Gorgias are connected once for the team; personal apps like your inbox stay under your own login.

What does it cost?

Every workspace starts with 300 free credits. You add a card at sign-up and nothing is charged until you run low; then it's $25 for 200 credits, with no subscription. A quick reply is about 5 credits and a typical run under 20; plans start at $99 a month.
