The short version

Cicada is built for a team: every person gets their own agents that work together, in iMessage, WhatsApp, Slack and email, across 1,000+ apps, on the phone and in meetings. Muse is Meta's personal agent for one person, in its own app and WhatsApp, free for most use.

Built for a team

A team of agents for a team of people.

Muse is one agent for each person, and its business version works for the owner; we couldn't find access for a team. Cicada is built for a team.

Agents for every person

Each person in your workspace gets their own agents. The apps the team shares are connected once; personal ones, like your inbox, stay under your own login.

A coordinator and specialists

A big job is split between specialists that work at the same time, and you get one answer back from the agent you asked.

Agents that work together

Teammates' agents know what each other covers, use each other's fresh figures and check with each other through the apps you share, never through anyone's private notes.

Know-how the whole team shares

What one agent learns about the business, every agent in the workspace knows, and a skill one agent proves is shared with the rest.

Where the conversation happens

Muse lives in its own app and in WhatsApp, one-to-one. Cicada is in iMessage and WhatsApp, including your group chats, where it speaks when someone names it, and in Slack channels, DMs and email, so it answers in the thread your team is already in.

It picks up the phone, and it joins the call

Cicada calls suppliers, venues and support lines in a natural voice, from your own number if you like, and sends you the transcript and recording. It also joins your Meet, Zoom, Teams and Webex calls and texts you the notes. We couldn't find either in Muse; it connects to Zoom and Granola instead.

A lock on every app, for every agent

Muse lets you choose each app's access and asks before it sends, posts or buys. Cicada sets that once for the whole team: any member can make an app Full, Ask first or Read-only, and it holds for every agent, on every channel.

Questions

Cicada vs Muse, answered.

Is Cicada a Muse alternative?

For a team, yes. Muse is Meta's personal agent for one person, in its app and WhatsApp; Cicada gives every person on a team agents that work together in iMessage, WhatsApp, Slack and email, make phone calls and join meetings.

Does Muse work for a whole team?

Meta's small business version works for the business owner, and its pages don't describe access for employees, as of October 2026. A shared-agents feature was spotted, unreleased, in the app. In Cicada every person in the workspace has their own agents, and they work together.

Can Muse make phone calls or join meetings?

Not that we could find, as of October 2026; it connects to Zoom and Granola. Cicada calls businesses for you and joins Meet, Zoom, Teams and Webex calls.

Where is Muse available?

In the US and Canada, per Meta, for people 18 and over. Cicada is open to sign up and free to start with 300 credits, no card needed.

Does either use my data for training?

Meta lets you opt out of your Muse interactions being used to train its models and says they stay out of its ad systems. Cicada doesn't use your workspace content to train foundation models.
