The short answer

What is an AI social media manager?

An AI social media manager is an agent that handles the routine of a brand's social accounts: drafting posts, planning the week, drafting replies to comments and messages, and reporting how it all did. Cicada's writes in your brand's voice, makes images with its image generation or uses the photos you send, and works through the accounts you connect, such as LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. Every post and reply waits for your yes in the chat before it goes out, and a recap of what performed arrives each week.

What it does

What your AI social media manager does.

01

Drafts the posts

Captions in your voice for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and the rest, from your news, your blog and what you tell it.

02

Plans the week

A calendar sheet each Friday with every post, its time, caption and image idea, for one approval pass.

03

Makes the images

Images from its image generation in the style you describe, or the photos you send it and keep in a shared Drive folder.

04

Posts after your yes

Once you approve, it posts each one at its time through the connected account. A post you haven't approved stays a draft.

05

Drafts replies

Reads comments and messages through the connected accounts, where the platform allows, and drafts replies to the ones that need an answer. Each waits for your OK.

06

Recaps what worked

A weekly note on reach, engagement and the best posts, from the accounts' own numbers, with one idea for next week.

Social without the scramble

A plan on Friday, approvals in one pass, a recap every Monday.

Replies that don't sit

Comments read daily, with replies drafted for the ones that need you.

Setup

Set up in three steps.

  1. Say what the job is

Describe the role in a sentence when you sign up, or tell the agent in the chat. It writes its own brief, which you can read and change any time.

  2. Connect the apps it needs

One click for most apps. Each one can be Full, Ask first or Read-only, for every agent in the workspace.

  3. Link your phone, or don't

Scan a code and it's in your iMessage or WhatsApp. Or keep it in the app, Slack and email. Hand it the first job in the same message.

Control

Nothing goes out without your yes.

Nothing goes out without your yes

Anything that can't be undone, and any message to another person, waits for your OK. Approve with a 👍 in the chat, or set a role to full autonomy once you trust it.

Read-only is a real lock

Make any app read-only and the agent can look but never change a thing. It applies to every agent in the workspace, from their next run.

Every step on the record

Each run shows what it read, what it did and what it sent, step by step, in the Activity tab. Corrections you make stick.

What it won't do.

Won't pretend

If it couldn't confirm something, it leaves it out and says so. A number without a source doesn't go in a message.

Won't go around you

It never messages anyone on your behalf unless you asked, never spends money, and never makes a judgement call about money on its own.

Won't read what isn't shared

Teammates' agents work only through the apps the workspace shares. Your inbox and your personal apps stay under your own login.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Where do I talk to it?

iMessage, WhatsApp, Slack, email or the web app. Approve a post with a 👍 in the same thread it was sent to you in.

Will it post without asking?

No. Every post and every reply waits for your yes in the chat. Approve a whole week at once and it posts each one at its time; anything you didn't approve stays a draft.

Which platforms does it work with?

The accounts you connect, such as LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. What it can read or post depends on what each platform allows through its app.

Can it run ads or boost posts?

No. It doesn't run, buy or boost ads, and never spends money.

Where do the images come from?

Your own photos, sent in the chat or kept in a shared Drive folder, or images it makes with its image generation from your description.

How does it know our tone?

Give it a few posts you like and the words you avoid. It keeps them in a memory you can read and edit in the Brain tab, and corrections stick.

Can my team use it too?

Yes. Everyone in your workspace gets their own agent. Shared apps are connected once for the team; personal apps like your inbox stay under your own login.

What does it cost?

Every workspace starts with 300 free credits. You add a card at sign-up and nothing is charged until you run low; then it's $25 for 200 credits, with no subscription. A quick reply is about 5 credits and a typical run under 20; plans start at $99 a month.
