Cicada vs Claude
Cicada is a team of agents for a team of people: they live in your messages, connect to your apps, work together, and keep working when you're not looking. Claude is a brilliant assistant you open to think, write and code. Plenty of people use both.
Cicada is built for a team: every person gets their own agents that run recurring work on their own, work together across the team, and reach you by text, in group chats, on the phone and in meetings. Claude is a brilliant assistant you open for deep work you do yourself: writing, analysis, coding and documents.
A team of agents for a team of people.
Claude is one assistant for each person, and Claude Tag works per Slack channel. Cicada gives your whole team agents that work together.
Agents for every person
Each person in your workspace gets their own agents. The apps the team shares are connected once; personal ones, like your inbox, stay under your own login.
A coordinator and specialists
A big job is split between specialists that work at the same time, and you get one answer back from the agent you asked.
Agents that work together
Teammates' agents know what each other covers, use each other's fresh figures and check with each other through the apps you share, never through anyone's private notes.
Know-how the whole team shares
What one agent learns about the business, every agent in the workspace knows, and a skill one agent proves is shared with the rest.

You open Claude. Cicada is already in the thread.
Claude is where you go to think something through: a document, a hard question, a codebase. Cicada sits where you already talk. You text it like a colleague, add it to the family or the ops group chat, mention it in Slack, and it answers in the thread it was asked in. Nothing to open, nothing to remember to check.
Hand off the job, not just the question
Both can work in the background and on a schedule. The difference is shape: in Cicada you give an agent a job (chase overdue invoices, prep every client meeting, watch stock) and it owns it, with specialists for each part and a coordinator that reports back to you. It reaches you when something needs you, on whatever channel you use.
It picks up the phone, and it joins the call
Cicada can call a supplier, a venue or a support line in a natural voice and text you what happened, with the transcript. It can also join your Meet, Zoom or Teams calls and send you the notes. Claude has voice mode for talking to Claude; it doesn't call other people for you.
Where Cicada is stronger
- Every person on the team gets their own agents, and they work together.
- A coordinator splits big jobs between specialists, running on schedules and app events.
- What one agent learns about the business, every agent in the workspace knows.
- You text it on iMessage or WhatsApp, and it works in group chats.
- It makes real phone calls for you and joins your meetings as a notetaker.
- Any member can lock an app to read-only for every agent in the workspace.
Choose Cicada if you want recurring work taken off your team's plate by agents that work together, reachable by text, acting in your apps and reporting back.
Where Claude fits
- Frontier models built in-house, with long context and top-tier reasoning.
- Coding: Claude Code is a product of its own.
- Documents: Docs, Slides, and add-ins for Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Workspace.
Claude may suit you if you mostly want help with work you do yourself: writing, research, code and documents.
Or use both. They work well together. Add Cicada as a connector in Claude to search what your agents know, send one of them a job, or save something Claude knows about you into Cicada.
Cicada vs Claude, answered.
Is Cicada a Claude alternative?
For handing off work across a team, yes. Claude is an assistant you work with directly; Cicada gives every person agents that work together, run recurring work on their own and are reachable by text and phone. Many people keep Claude for writing and coding and use Cicada for the work that should run without them.
Does Claude work in iMessage or WhatsApp?
Not as a first-party channel, as of October 2026. Its apps can draft a message for you to send. Cicada is something you text directly, one-to-one or in a group.
Can I use Cicada from inside Claude?
Yes. Add Cicada as a connector and Claude can search your agents' work, send one of them a job, and save documents into Cicada.
