AI SDR

An AI SDR you text.

It researches the accounts, finds the right person at each, writes the first email and chases the reply, from the messages you already use. Nothing goes to a prospect without your yes.

The short answer

What is an AI SDR?

An AI SDR is an agent that does the top of the funnel the way a good SDR does: picks the accounts that fit, finds the right person at each with tools like Amplemarket, ZoomInfo, Apollo and LinkedIn, writes a first email that mentions something true about them, and keeps the follow-ups going until someone answers. Cicada's does that from iMessage, WhatsApp, Slack or email, sends only from your own inbox or sequencer, logs every touch to your CRM, and never sends a message to a prospect without your yes.

What it does

What your AI SDR does.

01

Researches the account

Reads the website, the news, the job posts and what's in your CRM already, and writes the two lines that make an email worth opening. ZoomInfo, Apollo, LinkedIn and the web.

02

Finds the right person

The ops lead, the head of finance, the founder: whoever you sell to. Pulled from Amplemarket, ZoomInfo or Apollo, with the email verified before it goes on the list.

03

Drafts the outreach

A first email and the follow-ups, in your voice, one per person, never a template with a name swapped in. You read them in a sheet or in the chat and say which go.

04

Sends from your own inbox

Gmail, Outlook, or your sequencer: Amplemarket, Salesloft or Salesfinity. Spread over the morning, never from an address a prospect has never seen.

05

Logs every touch

Each contact, email and reply lands in HubSpot or Salesforce as it happens, so the pipeline is right without anyone typing it in.

06

Chases the reply

Watches the thread, texts you the moment a prospect answers, drafts the next step, and nudges the ones that went quiet after a yes from you.

Who it's for

Who hires an AI SDR.

Founders

Outbound before the first sales hire

A list, the research and the drafts every morning; you spend ten minutes saying yes instead of two hours writing.

Sales leaders

Research the reps never have time for

Every rep's accounts researched overnight, the first email drafted, the CRM filled in, so calls start with context.

SDRs

The grind, done

Takes the list-building, the enrichment and the first draft so you can spend the day on the conversations that answered.

Agency owners

A pipeline for your own agency

Finds the companies that look like your best clients and writes the intro that mentions their last campaign.

Recruiting firms

Business development on the side

Finds the hiring managers posting roles you fill and drafts the note, while the recruiters recruit.

Solo consultants

Outreach that doesn't stop when you're billing

Twenty researched intros a week, in your voice, waiting for a yes on your phone.

Setup

Set up in three steps.

  1. Say what the job is

Describe the role in a sentence when you sign up, or tell the agent in the chat. It writes its own brief, which you can read and change any time.

  2. Connect the apps it needs

One click for most apps. Each one can be Full, Ask first or Read-only, for every agent in the workspace.

  3. Link your phone, or don't

Scan a code and it's in your iMessage or WhatsApp. Or keep it in the app, Slack and email. Hand it the first job in the same message.

Control

Nothing goes out without your yes.

Nothing goes out without your yes

Anything that can't be undone, and any message to another person, waits for your OK. Approve with a 👍 in the chat, or set a role to full autonomy once you trust it.

Read-only is a real lock

Make any app read-only and the agent can look but never change a thing. It applies to every agent in the workspace, from their next run.

Every step on the record

Each run shows what it read, what it did and what it sent, step by step, in the Activity tab. Corrections you make stick.

What it won't do.

Won't pretend

If it couldn't confirm something, it leaves it out and says so. A number without a source doesn't go in a message.

Won't go around you

It never messages anyone on your behalf unless you asked, never spends money, and never makes a judgement call about money on its own.

Won't read what isn't shared

Teammates' agents work only through the apps the workspace shares. Your inbox and your personal apps stay under your own login.

Things to ask your AI SDR.

  1. 01

"Find 25 heads of finance at plumbing and HVAC companies with 50 to 200 staff in Texas. Verified emails only."

You get: A sheet of 25 contacts from your prospecting tools, each with a verified email, the company's size and the one fact worth opening with.

  2. 02

"Draft a first email to each one of them. Mention something real about the company. Keep it under 90 words."

You get: 25 drafts in the sheet and in the chat, one per person, in your voice, waiting for your yes before anything goes out.

  3. 03

"Send the ones I ticked from my Gmail, ten minutes apart, and log them to HubSpot."

You get: The sends go out from your own inbox on that spacing; each contact and email is in HubSpot by the time the last one leaves.

  4. 04

"Who replied this week and what did they say? Draft my next step for each."

You get: A short list: who answered, the gist, and a reply ready for each one. Quiet threads get a nudge drafted too.

  5. 05

"Every weekday at 8, text me yesterday's replies and the three accounts to research next."

You get: A morning message on the minute, built from your inbox, your CRM and the list you're working.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Where do I talk to it?

iMessage, WhatsApp, Slack, email or the web app. Link your phone with a code at sign-up and it answers in the same thread you text it in. In a group chat it stays quiet until someone names it.

Will it email prospects on its own?

No. Every message to a prospect waits for your yes in the chat, and it sends only from your own connected inbox or sequencer. You can also set Gmail or your sequencer to Ask first so each send is approved one by one.

Which prospecting tools does it use?

Whichever you connect: Amplemarket, ZoomInfo, Apollo and LinkedIn are the usual ones, plus Salesloft or Salesfinity for sequences and calls. It finds the person, verifies the email through the tool, and puts the result in a sheet you own.

Does it make the calls?

It isn't a dialer. Its job is the research, the writing and the follow-through; the call list goes into Salesfinity or your own dialer for you. It can also place a call for you (paid plans, US, Canada and UK).

How does it know what to write?

From the account research it does first, from your CRM, and from a memory of how you write and who you sell to. Tell it "shorter" or "never open with a compliment" once and that sticks.

Does it keep the CRM up to date?

Yes. Each contact, email and reply is logged in HubSpot or Salesforce as it happens, with the thread attached. If you'd rather it only read the CRM, make the app read-only and it will tell you what to change instead.

What won't it do?

It won't send anything without your yes, won't invent a fact about a company it couldn't confirm, won't use an email the tool couldn't verify, and won't send from an address that isn't yours.

Can my whole sales team use it?

Yes. Every rep gets their own agent, working from their own inbox and their own accounts. The CRM and the prospecting tools are connected once for the workspace; inboxes stay under each person's own login.

What does it cost?

Every workspace starts with 300 free credits. You add a card at sign-up and nothing is charged until you run low; then it's $25 for 200 credits, with no subscription. A quick reply is about 5 credits and a typical run under 20; plans start at $99 a month.
